Seminar in the Field of Intellectual Property for Members of the National Network of Pupils’ Councils

04/27/2021

The representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated, on 27 April this year, in an online information seminar in the field of intellectual property for members of the National Network of Pupils’ Councils (NNPC), which brings together young people from 9 lyceums in the capital.

The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize the members of the organization with the national system of protection, enforcement and use of intellectual property rights (IP).

As trainer, from AGEPI, participated Andrei Moisei, main consultant, Communication and Training Division, who spoke to the participants about the importance of protecting IP objects and enforcing intellectual property rights, as well as their use, essence, components and principles of IP law in developing a sustainable and successful business among young people. The AGEPI specialist reiterated the interest and support provided by the institution for promoting knowledge in the field of intellectual property among the young generation, as well as stimulating the creativity and innovative spirit of young people. The participants in the seminar showed an active interest in the topics addressed, having the opportunity to receive answers to the questions asked.

The information seminar was part of a series of manifestations dedicated to World Intellectual Property Day, marked this year under the title “Intellectual Property and SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”. World Intellectual Property Day has been marked since 2000, and April 26 is the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) entered into force (1970).

We mention that AGEPI aims to continue its involvement in such events, in order to raise awareness of the young generation on respect for and protection of IP rights, the economic importance of intellectual property in business, and the impact of creativity in the socio-economic segment of the Republic of Moldova.
