Interactive Dialogue on Intellectual Property: Members of the ELSA Association at AGEPI

10/24/2023

An information visit by the members of the European Law Students’ Association - ELSA National Group “ELSA Republic of Moldova” took place on October 24, this year, at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). This occasion gave students the opportunity to learn more about the importance and role of intellectual property in society.

The students were greeted by the Deputy Director General of AGEPI, Andrei Popa, who emphasized the importance of knowing the aspects related to intellectual property. Andrei Popa encouraged the students to explore even more deeply the field of intellectual property, inviting them to carry out internships at AGEPI, thus giving them the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in this field.

Then, the students participated in an interactive lesson held by Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Division of AGEPI. The lesson focused on the basics of the field of intellectual property and how it influences innovation, creativity and economic development.

A question-and-answer session followed, where students had the opportunity to ask specific questions and debate topics related to intellectual property and other key aspects of the field.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to visit the AGEPI headquarters and talk with the institution’s specialists about the procedures for registration of intellectual property objects.

We mention that AGEPI and the European Law Students’ Association - National Group “ELSA” signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of intellectual property last year. The Agreement involves the cooperation of the two parties in the participation or organization of instructive-informative events in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights for ELSA members; providing access to public information in the field of intellectual property and to sources of information and reference documentation; providing, upon request, consultancy in the field of intellectual property, etc.
