Since 1995, every year, on the last Saturday of June, the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day is marked in the Republic of Moldova. On this occasion, on June 24, the festive meeting organized by the Union of Inventors and Rationalizers of Moldova “Innovator” (UIR) took place, which was attended by representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The event was attended by researchers, inventors and rationalizers from academic and university environment, as well as from enterprises of the Republic of Moldova. In their speeches, the most important achievements of the last years, the future plans, and also the challenges faced by the research/innovation environment in the country were mentioned.
Present at the solemn meeting, Andrei Popa, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, addressed sincere congratulations, health wishes to all inventors and rationalizers, wishing them beautiful achievements in research, innovation and rationalization activity.
“I want to assure all inventors and rationalizers, as well as business representatives, that they can rely on the full support of AGEPI specialists in the information and consultation process on the protection of inventions and other intellectual property objects both in the country and abroad”, added Andrei Popa.
During the ceremony, AGEPI offered three diplomas for the most active inventors of the period 2020-2022, depending on the number of applications filed and the number of patents granted. Thus, in the category of patent for invention, the distinctions were awarded for Aurelian Gulea - academician, doctor habilitate, professor at the State University of Moldova and Victor Tapcov - doctor, associate professor, State University of Moldova, and in the category of short-term patent for invention - Ion Mereuta, doctor habilitate, professor, academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Moldova.
The celebration of Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day is a tribute paid to the innovative environment in the Republic of Moldova, with public recognition of the major influence they have on economic growth, technological progress and well-being of society in general.
