The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) held from 5 to 9 June this year a training course in the field of intellectual property (IP), addressed to judges, prosecutors, judicial assistants, clerks and consultants of prosecutors.
The main purpose of the course was to increase the knowledge of the representatives of the justice sector in the Republic of Moldova on intellectual property rights, the legal peculiarities of intellectual property objects and their registration procedures, as well as the procedural aspects of the intellectual property rights enforcement mechanisms in the context of examination of disputes in this field.
The training course was a valuable opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with national and international legislation relating to intellectual property, particularly with reference to copyright, trademarks, industrial designs and inventions. Through presentations and interactive sessions, AGEPI specialists provided relevant and up-to-date information on the various aspects of intellectual property, highlighting the importance of respecting IP rights in contemporary society.
The organization of this training course was carried out in the context of the Memorandum of Cooperation between AGEPI and NIJ, through which the two institutions committed to promote and develop knowledge among employees in the justice sector on the national system of protection and enforcement of IP rights. Through this initiative, AGEPI and NIJ aim to increase awareness and understanding of aspects related to intellectual property, as well as increase the professional capacity of representatives of the judicial system in the management and resolution of disputes in the field. By strengthening expertise and understanding in this vital field, more effective enforcement of the law is ensured and this contributes to the creation of an environment favourable to intellectual property rights enforcement in the country.
