Every year, on April 26, the international community celebrates World Intellectual Property Day, a time dedicated to recognizing the essential role of intellectual property (IP) in stimulating creativity and innovation.
In 2026, the theme chosen by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate!”. This theme highlights how IP contributes to the development of the world of sports, supporting creators and innovators who turn passion into performance and ideas into reality.
From cutting-edge equipment and game-changing technologies to inspiring brands and stunning designs, IP rights power a dynamic sports culture that inspires and connects people everywhere.
This World IP Day, we celebrate the creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs whose passion and ideas drive the future of sports, contributing to higher performance, more engaging experiences and a more sustainable sports industry.
To mark the event, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) will organize a series of dedicated activities, including:
- The Annual Scientific and Practical Symposium “AGEPI Readings”, 27th edition,
- The Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People, 10th edition.
Join the global campaign #WorldIPDay and discover how intellectual property fuels innovation in sports!
