The State Agency on Intellectual Property congratulates all lovers of reading and writing on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day. It is a day with many meanings, the one celebrating the efforts of authors and all the people involved in the book creation process.
Every year since 1995, on April 23 – a day on which three great authors of the world died: William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega - UNESCO has decided to praise the incredible power of authors to model minds, stimulate evolutions and generate knowledge through writing.
Through the festivities dedicated to this event, the Organization aims to promote the right and freedom of reading, encourage and stimulate it, attract young people to cultural institutions, to the library and books.
At the same time, the Librarian Day is celebrated in the Republic of Moldova, instituted in recognition of the immutable and revealing role of this profession.
AGEPI transmits, on this occasion, high appreciations and tributes to the persons who have professions associated with books - authors, publishers, translators, librarians, librarians, etc. We also congratulate readers on their desire to discover, and encourage everyone to respect copyright so that the book lasts forever and is appreciated forever.
