The working visit of the European Patent Office (EPO) expert, Gabriel Pecquet, took place from 2 to 4 July 2019 at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), it being focused on carrying out training activities on the examination of inventions.
The EPO representative’s agenda included meetings with the Deputy Director General Andrei Popa, as well as experts from the AGEPI Directions.
The EPO expert and the specialists of the AGEPI Patents Direction exchanged experience in the field of activity by analyzing various case studies on how to examine inventions to determine their compliance with patentability criteria. Several aspects related to invention patenting systems in the Republic of Moldova and the European Union also were discussed.
The working visit took place in the context of the program on cooperation activities between AGEPI and EPO for 2019 aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of AGEPI employees, as well as taking over best European practices in the field of patent examination.
