State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) invites persons interested in the topic of intellectual property to participate in the work of the sixteenth edition of the Annual Practical-Scientific Symposium “AGEPI Readings”, which will take place in the period 24-25April 2014, in the Conference Hall of AGEPI.

The work of the Symposium “AGEPI Readings” fits fully in the series of technical-scientific and information manifestations dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated annually on 26 April.

Symposium topic will be focused on current problems of protection, enforcement and exploitation of rights on intellectual property objects. The current edition of the Symposium will be held in five sessions:

1. Recent developments in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights;

2. Protection of industrial property rights – legal and procedural aspects:

a) Patents for invention and plant varieties;

b) Trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications, appellations of origin and traditional specialties guaranteed;

3. Current issues of copyright and related rights;

4. Management of intellectual property;

5. Use of economic potential of intellectual property.

The symposium is intended for both specialists working in the field of protection of intellectual property and representatives of institutions and organizations in the sphere of science and innovation, central public administration authorities with responsibilities for the enforcement of intellectual property rights, patent attorneys and counselors in industrial property, inventors, professors, students, master and doctoral students within higher education and vocational institutions of the republic.

Materials that will match the theme of the Symposium will be published in the journal of intellectual property “Intellectus”, during the year 2014. Material submitted for publication must contain: name and surname of the participant, academic degree, academic title, job place, function, telephone number, e-mail address.

Important time limits:

April 14, 2013 – time limit for submission of Registration Form.

April 18, 2013 – time limit for submission of communications in Word and PowerPoint format.

Opening of the Symposium will take place on April 24, 2014, 10:00 a.m., in the conference hall of AGEPI (24/1, Andrei Doga str., Chisinau).
