The Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts (AMTAP), in partnership with the State Agency for Intellectual Property, organized on May 5 a conference entitled “Copyright and Related Rights in the Field of Arts”.
The event, intended to professors, doctoral students and librarians from the Academy, aimed to consolidate knowledge in the field of copyright and related rights, especially in the field of arts (works of art, books, audio/video recordings, images, etc.).
During the event, Andrei Moisei, Principal Consultant in the Communication and Training Division, Communication and International Relations Department of AGEPI, informed the participants of what are intellectual property objects (IP), the need and duration of protection of IP objects, plagiarism phenomenon and effects thereof. Particular attention was paid to copyright and related rights, the importance of works of art for mankind and the economy, the creative industries, ways of making a profit from the protection of works, and collective management organizations of economic copyright and/or related rights.
During the conference, Rodica Popescu, Head of the Copyright Department of AGEPI, also intervened with clarifications and answers in the legal field.
The meeting ended with a question-and-answer session and debates in the field of copyright.
