The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, delivered on December 16 an open lecture on the field of intellectual property (IP) to second-year students from the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).

AGEPI Director General spoke to the students about the product of the IT field and the ways of protecting it as an intellectual property object, also presenting useful information about copyright and related rights in the IT field, the legal framework and the economic right in created software, protection of computer programs and mobile applications, as well as the misuse or illegal attribution of source code. Eugeniu Rusu also addressed specific aspects of copyright protection in the digital environment, the ways of authorizing the use of works and exploiting copyright on social media platforms. Another topic discussed was patents for invention.

The event ended with a question and answer session.

We should mention that, for AGEPI, training in the field of intellectual property is one of the key priorities in promoting and developing the system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

We remind you that in March 2009, the State Agency on Intellectual Property and the Technical University of Moldova signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of intellectual property.
