On April 25, 2014, at 15:00, in the conference hall of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) will be held the solemn meeting dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Organization, 2014.

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every year on April 26 by the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to emphasize the role of intellectual property in economic, cultural and social development of all countries of the world. The celebration is marked since 2000, and April 26 is the day on which the Convention establishing WIPO (1970) came into force.

This year, in the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization, including the Republic of Moldova, World IP Day will be celebrated under the motto “Movies – A Global Passion”.

The event will be attended by representatives of the central public authorities, institutions of science and innovation and higher education, creative unions, inventors, patent attorneys and IP counselors, representatives of AGEPI, of foreign IP offices, participants of the Practical-Scientific Symposium “AGEPI Readings-2014”.

The meeting will be opened by Ion Tiganas, Deputy Director General of AGEPI.

WIPO awards will also be presented in the event (WIPO Trophy “Innovative Enterprise” and diplomas of the WIPO Gold Medal winners awarded in the ISE “Infoinvent-2013”). It will also be designated the “Most Active Patent Attorney of 2013”, and awards obtained by the Moldavian inventors at current edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.
