Public Hearing of Technology Transfer Projects Funded by the State in 2014

Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT), with the participation of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and other public institutions organized, on 16 October this year, a public hearing of technology transfer projects, funded by the state in 2014, at a rate of up to 50%.

The event took place in the Central Scientific Library “Andrei Lupan” of ASM.

The event was attended by the President of ASM, acad. Gheorghe Duca, Prime Vice President of ASM, acad. Ion Tighineanu, Director General of AITT, Roman Chirca, Director General of AGEPI, Dr. Lilia Bolocan, Vice President of the Moldovan-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Marco Papini, coordinators of technology transfer projects benefiting from budget funding, stakeholders.

In his message addressed to participants at the meeting, ASM President stressed the importance of scientific research for the development of an innovation business, reiterating the importance of funding and supporting technology transfer projects, of forming a functional platform for the interaction between the scientific environment and that of business, in order to develop a national competitive economy.

“Innovations have always attracted global attention. Everyone is targeted on the innovative aspect to be regarded as a priority and focus to be primarily on quality”, said Lilia Bolocan, Director General of AGEPI.

Director General of AITT presented the evolution of technology transfer projects funded during the 10 years of existence of the agency. Mr. Roman Chirca stressed that lately has managed to attract a large share of investment in technology transfer projects in progress. Only in 2014, for example, were allocated from the state budget around 8.4 million for technology transfer projects and co-financing rate was about 11 million lei.

According to information provided by AITT, in 2014 were funded 17 projects technology transfer within the four strategic research directions with a total volume of 19.96 million lei, of which 8.62 million from the state budget and 11 35 million from co-funding.

The representative of the Moldovan-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented to audience the international community support for the development of interaction between the research environment with that of entrepreneurship, encouraging the application and use of international financing funds available, such as Horizon 2020 of the European Commission.

In the event were also presented some success stories in the field of implementation of technology transfer projects.
