The European Patent Office (EPO) is organising on 4 December 2024 the Patent Knowledge Forum, an event designed to provide a comprehensive overview of new developments in patent data, search tools and IP knowledge. This digital event is a follow-up to the Patent Knowledge Week and promotes the dissemination of patent information, the generation of patent knowledge and its practical application.

In its new compact format, the Forum aims to take the audience to a deeper practical level, showing how to transform patent data into actionable intelligence update users on new developments in the patent knowledge area at the EPO.

Key topics of the event include:

  • The Technology Intelligence Platform: Discover the new Technology Intelligence Platform during its official public launch and live demo! This ready-to-use platform enables users to seamlessly access and process the EPO’s extensive patent data collections, along with any other dataset, to unlock new insights and applications in patent intelligence and innovation.
  • Learning power hour: An overview and deep dive into the EPO’s new Legal Interactive Platform and the latest improvements in Espacenet and the Unitary Patent in the European Patent Register.
  • The CodeFest prize ceremony: Discover the winning proposals for innovative methods of using generative AI to leverage the power of the EPO’s high-quality patent data. This coding competition demonstrates how the EPO is embracing cutting-edge solutions to revolutionise data access, interpretation and utilization.
