The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on February 15, this year, in online format, chaired by Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, Chairman of the Commission.
During the meeting, five requests for use of the official or historical name of the State in the trademark were examined and it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in the trademarks:
The said trademarks are to be used for the following categories of services and goods: advertising; telecommunications services; transport; packaging and storage of goods; paper; wines; wine-based products, etc.
In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the permission of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, whose activity is regulated by Government Decision No. 8/2022.
