On July 1, 2010, in the State Agency on Intellectual Property took place handing of certificates of qualification for 16 evaluators of intellectual property objects that have completed the courses organized by AGEPI. For the first time such certificates were granted in 2004 and in 2009, according to the Law No. 989-XV of 18 April 2002 on the Assessment Activity and the relevant Regulations, followed their reattestation, organized by AGEPI.

The role of intellectual property in the knowledge-based society is increasing, fact determining the development of innovative process, and the inclusion of intellectual property objects in the economic circuit becomes an imperative necessity for the national economy, has estimated in the event Mrs. Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI. Thus, the evaluators of intellectual property objects will become the central subjects of the IPO market, actively contributing to its expansion.

Following the specialized courses and graduating the qualification exams, the 16 evaluators have obtained the right to make estimates of utility processes of intellectual activity results, expressed in the equivalent value of the technical, consumption, economic characteristics, etc., of the intellectual property objects. This work will include the IPO acquisition on the company balance, as evidence unit in the component part of intangible assets, as well as reflection on accounting, determination of economic efficiency of IPO exploitation - choosing the best application thereof; correction of the development strategy of the company; development of business plans to justify the amounts of loans and attract investments to create IPO or acquire rights thereon; transfer of rights by the enterprise, free of charge or taken on lease, to third parties; performance of commercial operations on IPO.

Currently, 21 evaluators of intellectual property objects, included in the State Register of Evaluators of Intellectual Property Objects, legally activate in the Republic of Moldova.
