The representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated, on January 22 this year, in a videoconference with representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The main topic of the videoconference was the stage of implementation of the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020 and the strategic priorities in the field for the next period.

AGEPI specialists informed WIPO representatives of the results achieved in the implementation of the current strategy, and also the challenges faced by the Agency at various stages of its implementation.

The Moldovan side insisted on appreciating WIPO assistance to the Republic of Moldova in developing the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020 and reiterated the interest in having WIPO support in developing the next Strategic Development Document. Thereafter, the parties had an exchange of views on the methodology of developing a strategy in the field of intellectual property, the existing instruments and the stages of development.

Finally, WIPO representatives expressed their full support for strengthening the IP system in the Republic of Moldova, including in the process of developing a new National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2030.
