On 22-23 October 2012, University “A. Russo” from Balti hosted two major events, namely: Conference of Physicists of Moldova and International Scientific Conference “10 Years of Development of Nanotechnologies in the Republic of Moldova”.

The organizers of these events have been State University “A. Russo” from Balti, Research Institute “ELIRI”. Also, among the organizers were the Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies of ASM, ASM Institute of Applied Physics, State University of Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, Tiraspol State University (based in Chisinau).

The official opening of these two conferences was attended by c.m. Ion Tighineanu, Vice President of ASM, Acad. Valeriu Canter, President of NCAA, and Dr. Alexandru Balanici, First Pro-Rector of SUB. A welcoming speech delivered to the audience c.m. Leonid Culiuc, Director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the ASM, Dr. Hab. Anatolii Sidorenco, Director of the Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies of ASM, other scientists and researchers from the Republic of Moldova.

The Conference of Physicists of Moldova was moderated by Acad. Valeriu Canter, President of NCAA, and the International Scientific Conference “10 Years of Development of Nanotechnologies in Moldova” was moderated by c.m. Ion Tighineanu, Vice President of ASM.

State Agency on Intellectual Property disseminated information booklets and pamphlets in the IP field to participants in these two events. Within the framework of the Conference “10 Years of Development of Nanotechnologies in Moldova” Ms. Tatiana Sau, Chief of Mechanical Engineering, Electricity Division, AGEPi, presented the report “Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova in the Field of Nanotechnologies”.

At the said conference were presented over 50 papers by researchers from Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and Moldova.

These events were organized on the occasion of the 65th anniversary from the foundation of the Faculty of Exact Sciences of the University “A. Russo” from Balti, headed by Prof. Dr. Hab. Pavel Topala.
