Intellectual Property in the Development of New Technologies

On February 26, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized a training seminar entitled “Intellectual Property in the Development of New Technologies”, for students from the study program “Electronics”, “Applied Electronics” and “Security of Electronic Systems Devices” of the Electronics and Telecommunications Department of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).

The seminar aimed to familiarize students with the national system of protection and use of intellectual property.

According to the program, Andrei Moisei, coordinator specialist of the AGEPI Training Division, spoke to students about intellectual property as an indispensable tool for innovation and development. Andrei Moisei also talked about the possibility of patenting/registering intellectual property objects (IPOs) by students, about the databases on different IPOs and the related registration fees. A particular emphasis has been placed on the risks that creative people may face if they disregard the implementation of legal procedures for protection of intellectual creations, the conflicts that may arise and the ways of enforcing intellectual property rights.

During the seminar were distributed promotional materials in the field of intellectual property, namely: the folder “5-steps”, the booklet “How to Patent an Invention in the Republic of Moldova”, the booklet “How to Register the Copyright in the Republic of Moldova”, other promotional materials.

The training seminar ended with a question and answer session. Finally, students showed interest in participating in such events.
