The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on November 30, 2022, in the Managers’ Forum within the National Library System entitled “Libraries in Supporting the Digital, Social and Cultural Inclusion of Community Members”, 27th edition. The event took place online and was organized by the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, National Librarianship Council with the support of the Ministry of Culture.

The Forum was attended by librarians from national, university, specialized, municipal, city and district libraries, teaching staff, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, National Book Chamber, etc.

The participants in the event discussed issues with reference to trends in the field of librarianship and information science. The Forum of Managers of the National Library System traditionally sets the activity priorities for the next year and provides the benchmarks on which the programming of activities will be focused. Thus, the priority of 2023 will focus on supporting the digital, social and cultural inclusion of community members and as a result improving the quality of people’s lives, which is the library’s mission. Broadly speaking, in the bibliological year 2023, libraries will orient their activity towards supporting communities in view of reforms, European modernization and strengthening resilience in the face of the challenges they face.

Andrei Moisei, principal consultant, Communication and Training Division within AGEPI, spoke to the participants about the new legislative provisions in the field of copyright and related rights.

The event was very useful for librarians, who expressed their desire to deepen their knowledge in other meetings or forums of this kind.
