The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) hosted a study visit of a group of 4th-year students from the Industrial Design program within the Design Department, Technical University of Moldova (TUM). The event aimed to provide students with a detailed perspective on the national intellectual property protection system and to highlight opportunities for its exploitation.
The visit took place in particular within the Industrial Designs Division of the Trademarks and Industrial Design Department, as well as in the Patents Department of AGEPI, where the students learned details about the procedures of examining applications and creating deposits for designs and inventions.
The program included an extensive presentation by AGEPI specialists, who explained the industrial designs and inventions registration and protection process, emphasizing their importance for creative and technological development. Students had the opportunity to address questions to experts and participate in discussions about how intellectual property contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the creative industry and supporting innovation in the local and international market.
During the meeting, AGEPI specialists highlighted the role that training young designers and inventors plays in strengthening an economic environment based on innovation and creativity. The event was appreciated by the students, who expressed their interest in participating in other similar activities organized by AGEPI in the future.
Such visits and exchanges of experience are part of AGEPI’s ongoing efforts to promote and disseminate information about intellectual property, contributing to increasing awareness and respect for intellectual property rights. The Agency aims to continue collaborating with higher education institutions to ensure that future generations of specialists are well informed and prepared to face the challenges in the field of industrial design and innovation.
