By Order of the Director General of AGEPI No. 149 of November 4, 2022, on the application of the 14th edition of the International Classification for Industrial Designs, issued pursuant to the decision of the Committee of Experts of the Special Union (adopted during the 15th session of January 24 - 28, 2022), starting with January 1, 2023, the 14th edition of the International Classification of Industrial Designs (LOC) is implemented.
According to item 1 of the Order:
a) the industrial designs will be classified in accordance with the 14th edition of the LOC for all applications for the registration of industrial designs that have a filing date on or after 01.01.2023;
b) will not be reclassified industrial designs:
- included in applications with a filing date earlier than 01.01.2023;
- upon renewal of industrial design registration;
c) in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee of Experts of the Special Union regarding the International Classification for Industrial Designs, AGEPI will use the abbreviation “LOC(14)” in the documents sent, the materials published and in the industrial design registration certificates.
