The IP workshop “The Role of New Technologies in Consolidating the Institutional Capacities of the IP Offices: Digital Transformation” took place on September 9, in Chisinau. The workshop took place in a hybrid format and was organized by AGEPI with the support of the EU project “Support for Structured Policy Dialogue, Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement and Enhancement of the Legal Approximation Process” for the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
In the opening, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, expressed his certainty that the workshop will become a communication platform, in which everyone will be able to share the experience related to new technologies: implementation, challenges and successes.
Habip Asan, Director of the Division for Transition and Developed Countries within the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) noted the topicality and necessity of the topics on the agenda of the workshop and urged those present to actively participate in the discussions.
Primoz Vehar, Leader of the EU Project “Support for Structured Policy Dialogue, Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement and Enhancement of the Legal Approximation Process” for the Republic of Moldova, also came with a greeting message.
The Workshop Program was structured on the following discussion topics:
I IP Global Databases and Data Analytics Capabilities;
II Implementation of Modern IT Technologies: Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, etc., with a View to Enhance the Quality of IP Services;
III IP Data Exchange and Cooperation for IP;
Roundtable: Legal Framework, Gaps and Ongoing Developments; Human Capital and Digital Literacy.
Specialists from the Republic of Moldova, Austria, the Republic of Serbia, the Netherlands, and Slovenia presented the experiences of implementing modern technologies, how data exchange and international cooperation take place.
The Workshop is part of the list of events dedicated to the 30 years since the foundation of AGEPI.
