Cooperation Relations between AGEPI and ORDA, Discussed During a Bilateral Meeting in Bucharest

The bilateral meeting at the level of Directors General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and ORDA took place on June 14, this year, at the headquarters of the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA).

The event took place during the working visit to Bucharest of the AGEPI delegation led by Mr. Eugeniu Rusu, Director General.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation relations between AGEPI and ORDA and to sign the Cooperation Program for the years 2022-2023 between the two institutions.

ORDA Director General Andrei-Simion Ijac thanked his colleagues from the Republic of Moldova for their cooperation and acceptance of the invitation to participate in the bilateral meeting. The official reiterated the openness of the institution he leads to continued cooperation.

In his turn, AGEPI Director General Eugeniu Rusu stressed the importance of such events, especially for strengthening the dialogue between intellectual property offices and taking over best practices in the field of copyright and related rights protection, especially in the context of amplifying the process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, the specialists exchanged information and opinions on recent developments in the field of copyright and related rights in the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the current state of cooperation between the countries in the field of IP was reviewed, the priority directions of cooperation between ORDA and AGEPI were discussed, as well as joint activities for the next period were agreed.

Thus, at the end of the meeting, the Cooperation Program between AGEPI and ORDA for the years 2022-2023 was signed. The document includes a range of activities in the area of ​​competence of the institutions, including exchanges of experience and knowledge transfer in the protection of copyright and related rights, collective management of rights, IPR enforcement, education and training in this field and other relevant issues.

At the end of the working visit, the members of the delegations assured each other of mutual support and agreed on strengthening cooperation relations both bilaterally and within regional and international organizations.
