The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova had a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Hassan Kleib.
The meeting took place in the context of the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova, led by the Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, in the 62nd Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of WIPO Member States, which takes place from 4 to 8 October, in Geneva.
Thus, during the meeting, the latest developments of AGEPI and WIPO in the field of development of the intellectual property system were reviewed. There were also discussions on the WIPO-Republic of Moldova cooperation priorities.
“The main expectation we have from WIPO is the way of using/exploiting intellectual property to help the development of industries in small countries, such as Moldova. Our country is ready to participate in any WIPO initiative aimed at intellectual property for economic and social development,” mentioned Eugeniu Rusu during the meeting.
Hassan Kleib, who coordinates the development and cooperation sector, assured the delegation of the Republic of Moldova that WIPO will continue to provide Member States with all necessary support in building modern intellectual property systems.
At the same time, the Director General of AGEPI thanked the Deputy Director General of WIPO for supporting the candidacy of the Republic of Moldova for the presidency of the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
We remind you that in the current series of meetings, Tatiana Molcean, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the UN Office in Geneva and other International Organizations in Geneva was elected Chair of the WIPO General Assembly for 2022-2023.
