The AGEPI delegation, led by Director General Eugeniu Rusu, in Geneva to participate in the work of the 63rd Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO, had a bilateral meeting with the delegation of Ukraine.
During the discussions, AGEPI representatives reconfirmed our country’s support for the Ukrainian people and reiterated the fact that previously, with the support of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, the necessary procedures were started to provide facilities to applicants and holders of IPOs residing or headquartered in Ukraine. As a result, they are exempted from the need to respect deadlines in relations with the Agency.
The decision of the European Council regarding granting the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union for Moldova and Ukraine was another topic discussed during the meeting. The actions required in this regard for both countries were analyzed, including cooperation in the field of intellectual property and the need to intensify relations between the two offices in order to achieve common objectives related to the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
