During the 22nd session of the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, which took place from 7 to 11 October 2024, in the city of Geneva, Switzerland, the importance of indicating the e-mail address of the holders and representatives with reference to the international trademarks in order to communicate between them and the International Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WI).
We remind you that as from February 1, 2023, amendments to Section 11 of the Administrative Instructions for the Application of the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks entered into force prescribing that all communications with IB be conducted by electronic means (Circular No. 2/2023 of 27.01.2023, (MADRID/2023/2)
At the same time, IB makes every effort to offer an online services platform (eMadrid – Madrid System online services) as secure as possible, and holders and representatives who have not yet indicated their e-mail addresses will encounter difficulties in managing international registrations.
In this context, users of the Madrid System from the Republic of Moldova are invited to update or provide an e-mail address through eMadrid – Madrid System online services by accessing the headings “Change Holder Details” or “Manage Representative”, or through Contact Madrid.
