Nearly 60 pupils, from 9 districts of the republic, competed for a free contract of studies at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, within the Republican Olympiad in Economics. Sorin Gritco, twelfth-grade pupil, at the theoretical lyceum from Cotiujenii Mari, Soldanesti district, was designated the best Olympic in Economics, being the holder of the Grand Prix.
The Republican Olympiad in Economics was held on 22-24 April and was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with Junior Achievement Moldova. State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) has been a partner of this year’s edition of the Olympiad, both of the regional and republican stage.
The official opening of the event took place on April 22, at the theater Satiricus “I. L. Caragiale”.
Present, both at the opening of the event and the award ceremony, Director General of AGEPI, Octavian Apostol, said that the recipe of a successful person consists of luck, talent and hard work, and those who work hard, even outside extracurricular program, become Olympic, create a future, but also a beautiful image of our country. Octavian Apostol said that supporting such events with the participation and involvement of young people has become a tradition for AGEPI, because the State Agency on Intellectual Property is the institution that focuses on fostering creativity, innovative spirit of youth and curiosity in discovering innovative solutions.
The 60 participants in the republican stage are winners of the regional stage of the Olympiad in Economics, which was held on 13 February this year, attended by 145 students who study the program “Applied Economics” in lyceums, from 11 districts of the republic.
According to the normative framework of regulating the conduct of Olympiads in school subjects, participants were given, for solving the proposed test, 3 astronomical hours. The topics covered the areas provided for in the curriculum, approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova. The olympic team is trained by 17 teachers, from 23 pre-university educational institutions of the country.
