In the context of celebration of Europe Day-2014 in the Republic of Moldova, State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) has conducted a series of events to inform the citizens about the benefits of European integration in the field of intellectual property.
Thus, on 7 May this year, AGEPI organized a thematic lesson for students of the Business and Business Administration Department, specialty “Management of Intellectual Property”, from the Academy of Economic Studies (AESM), on the process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova, priorities in this area, and the benefits obtained by the citizens as a result of European integration in the field of intellectual property. The lecture was delivered by Liliana Vieru, Deputy Director of the Promotion and Publishing Department, Head of International Cooperation and European Integration Division, AGEPI.
On 10 May this year, alongside of other public authorities and institutions in the Republic of Moldova, AGEPI participated in the events dedicated to Europe Day, conducted by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and Chisinau Mayoralty, in the framework of the “European Town”, arranged downtown.
Actions dedicated to Europe Day began in Chisinau with raising the National Flag of the Republic of Moldova and the Flag of the European Union in front of the Government building.
The official inauguration of the “European Town” in Chisinau was attended by the Leadership of the country, representatives of the Government, EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, ambassadors of the European states and local authorities.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova said that Europe Day this year has a special significance, with the removal of visas for the Schengen space. “It is an important and beautiful day; the inauguration of the flag of the Republic of Moldova and of the European Union moved me deeply. I imagined for a moment that we just raise the flags on the occasion of Moldova’s accession to the European Union. It is a good opportunity to see what will every embassy of the EU member countries rejoice us with, to see the projects supported by the EU and to also explain our citizens what are the advantages of the European Union”, said Iurie Leanca.
In the “European Town” were placed information centers, where visitors received relevant information on EU member states, process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova, benefits from visa waiver and signing of the Association Agreement with the EU for Moldovan citizens.
Guests of the event were also acquainted with the projects undertaken in our country with the financial support of the EU, opportunities of academic mobility and study of EU states languages. Diplomatic missions, participating in the event, organized presentations of folk dances, lessons of foreign languages and prepared traditional dishes.
In the event, AGEPI participated with an information stand and AGEPI specialists disseminated relevant information (brochures, leaflets) on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights and provided consultations in the given field.
