The 32nd Session of the Nice Union Committee of Experts (CLIM/CE/32) on the introduction of amendments and additions to the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (ICGS) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 25 to 29, 2022. The meetings took place in hybrid format, during which all the proposals submitted to the EC32, as well as the pending proposals from the EC31 were examined.

The Committee was attended by representatives of the Nice Union Member States, international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Discussions were moderated by Thom Clark (EUIPO), Chair elected in previous sessions.

The Republic of Moldova was represented, through online participation in the CLIM/CE/32 committee meeting, by AGEPI specialists: Victoria Pulbere, Deputy Head of the Trademarks and Industrial Design Department and Tatiana Rusu, Head of the National Trademarks Division.

The Committee, which meets once a year, decides on any changes to be made to ICGS, which are published in the form of new editions every five years and new versions every year.

Several topics were discussed in the Committee, including the revision procedure with NCLRMS (Nice Classification Revision Management Solution), which was designed to provide the best platform for revising the classification of goods and services. At the same time, the amendment, completion, exclusion of existing terms and the addition of new terms for the entire list of goods/services in ICGS were examined.

All amendments accepted during the current session will take effect on January 1, 2023.
