“INFOINVENT 2015” has designated Its Winners

International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT”, fourteenth edition, has designated its winners in a ceremony held on 27 November 2015, at Moldexpo.

Thus, the 410 works exhibited on stands were appreciated by the Committee of Experts and the International Jury of the exhibition with the following distinctions: gold medals – 64, silver medals – 57 and bronze medals – 60.

The inventions presented were also appreciated with trophies, cups, diplomas and special mentions by both the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and national partners including the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Council for Accreditation and Attestation, Technical University of Moldova, Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection of the ASM, etc. There also came with special mentions the international institutions present at the event, including the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania, Romanian Inventors’ Forum, the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers, etc.

During the awarding ceremony, the Director General of AGEPI, Octavian Apostol, congratulated the participants in the exhibition and said that the field of innovation is very important for us, because we have human capital and thus with the help of inventive people we could contribute to economic development Moldova. Also, Octavian Apostle wished the researchers, inventors, representatives of innovative enterprises in the country and creative people to exploit their work, to acquire financing, to contribute to the progress of our country and to bring the idea of ​​innovation internationally.

Guest of honor of the event was the Ad Interim Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Gheorghe Brega. The official said that the exhibition is an ideal meeting place for inventors, researchers and businessmen who would like to invest in making inventions. The prime minister emphasized that from innovations can be obtained profitable businesses, expressing his hope that the inventions exhibited in the exhibition “INFOINVENT 2015” will be materialized in the shortest time.

The most important distinction granted in the ISE “INFOINVENT” is the Moldovan Government Award “Most Gifted Inventor”. In this edition, the grand prix went to Lupascu Tudor, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Director of the Institute of Chemistry of the ASM.

Traditionally, in the exhibition are handed distinctions of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the most active inventors and innovative institutions.

Thus, the WIPO Gold Medal “Outstanding Inventor” was given to Valentina Bulimaga, scientific researcher, coordinator, State University of Moldova, for the cycle of inventions in biotechnology.

WIPO Trophy “Innovative Institution” went to Institute of Zoology for the cycle of works in beekeeping.

Also, the team of inventors Habasescu Ion, Cerempei Valerian, Golomoz Anatolie, Balaban Nicolae, Raicov Victor, Munteanu Ion, Savca Radu received the AGEPI Grant Prix “Invention of the Year” for the complex of equipment for conditioning and processing of biomass for energy purposes.

AGEPI Award “Best Invention created by a Woman Inventor” went to Aculina Aricu from the Institute of Chemistry, for new processes for the synthesis of terpene compounds.

AGEPI granted the award “Best Invention created by a Young Inventor” to Olga Macagonova from the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”, for devices for preparing biological tissues.

During the awarding ceremony, organizers have also designated the winners of the AGEPI Trophy for innovation and creativity, for the richest portfolio of applications and titles of protection obtained during the past two years. Thus, the award in the field of research and development and higher education went to Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection of the ASM, and in the field if Entrepreneurship the award was granted to “Viorica Cosmetics” J.S.C.

AGEPI Award “Most Successful Industrial Design” went to Angela Scripcenco and Utocichina Nina for the school uniform for girl teen-agers.

At the same time, AGEPI granted the Award “Most Successful Plant Variety” to Institute of Crop Production “Porumbeni” for the corn variety Porumbeni 461.

During the ceremony were also awarded the winners of the journalistic contest “Developing the Country’s Economy with Intellectual Property”.

It should be noted that the event was organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property, in partnership with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer and IEC “Moldexpo” J.S.C.

Over 100 institutions in the sphere of science and innovation, higher education, private inventors and creative people from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Iraq and Canada participated in the ISE “INFOINVENT 2015”.

Since the first edition of the exhibition (1997) and so far, the event was attended by over 1,000 exhibitors presenting about 4,000 inventions and cycles of inventions in various fields of science and technology.
