05.01.2022

The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, today presented the diploma and the grand prix to Alina Mustovici, pupil of the Theoretical Lyceum “Onisifor Ghibu” from Orhei, who won first place in the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People.

The competition, now in its fifth edition, took place in three stages, during the period April - December 2021, and was organized by AGEPI, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania and the Romanian Copyright Office. The Contest was attended by 49 pupils from all regions of the country.

In the final stage, Alina Mustovici impressed the jury with a video presentation on how to create a brand, how to strengthen the company’s reputation and how the trademark helps customer loyalty, using the example of two local brands in Orhei.

The Director General of AGEPI Eugeniu Rusu, congratulated the winner and thanked her for her ingenuity and creativity. Eugeniu Rusu hopes that through this contest, pupils from the Republic of Moldova will be able to better understand how intellectual property rights can support the achievement of goals and transform ideas into reality, generate income and create jobs, thus contributing to a change in the world around them. “With intellectual property rights, young people have access to some of the key tools they need to advance their ambitions,” said AGEPI’s Director General.

The 6th edition of the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People will be launched, traditionally, on April 26, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, whose motto proclaimed by the World Intellectual Property Organization for 2022 is “Intellectual property and Youth - Innovating for a Better Future”.

The youth of today are the innovators, the creators and the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Through their creativity and ingenuity, young people in all regions are driving change and carving pathways to a better future. World Intellectual Property Day 2022 celebrates this exciting generation of change-makers.

The program of events proposed by the World Intellectual Property Organization also includes events that will take place at the national level.

To highlight the huge potential of young people in our country to find new solutions that support the transition to a sustainable future, AGEPI will organize a series of activities dedicated to this world-class event. We will come back with more details later.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the ingenuity, creativity, vision and courage of world’s young creators, inventors and entrepreneurs to build a better future.
