On 20 May this year, in the premises of the State Agency on Intellectual Property was held the training seminar on “Practical Aspects on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Law”. This seminar fits into the list of joint activities planned by AGEPI and NIJ (National Institute of Justice) with the purpose of training and retraining judges, public prosecutors and mediators in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

In accordance with the Program of the training seminar, AGEPI specialists presented communications on the legal regulation of copyright and related rights and legal regulation of the exclusive right in trademarks.

The presentations were complemented by three case studies with the simulation of court proceedings: “Disputes on Invalidity of Trademark Registration”, “Infringement of the Right of Authorship to a Work” and “Disputes on Deprivation of Trademark Rights for Non-Effective Use”. The discussions took place in an interactive format, judges and public prosecutors attending the meeting shared ideas and examples of their work experience.

The seminar was attended by representatives of Chisinau and Basarabeasca courts, Chisinau Court of Appeal, Prosecutor General’s Office and District Courts (Chisinau, Balti, Orhei), as well as mediators, AGEPI and NIJ specialists.
