The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) announces the publication of the Annual Report, which reflects the activity of the institution during 2023.
This report is an important tool for evaluating and understanding AGEPI’s activity in the field of intellectual property and is available to the general public. In addition, the document provides an overview of the evolution of the field of intellectual property in the Republic of Moldova and contributes to the development of an intellectual property enforcement culture among the population and the business environment.
In the current edition, relevant statistical data are presented regarding the results obtained in 2023, for each activity segment of AGEPI. The Report also contains the priority actions of the institution for the year 2024.
The Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, stated that: “Despite the progress made, the tense regional context imposed additional pressure on the intellectual property system, maintaining the trend registered in the previous year in the number of applications for protection and, accordingly, the number of intellectual property objects, for which protection has been granted. In addition, increasing the level of awareness of the importance of intellectual property among the population remained a major concern for AGEPI, which prompted us in 2023 as well to organize and participate with promotion and information activities in 80 events, in which about 3300 persons took part. The content of this report provides extensive details of what we have done recently. We are committed to being completely transparent and encourage you to read it to get truthful information about the achievements and challenges of 2023, and also about the ambitious goals we have set ourselves as an object for 2024.”
