AGEPI Delegation, on an Official Visit to the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan

The International Conference entitled “Intellectual Property in XXI Century: Trends and Achievements. 30 Years of Intellectual Ptoperty of Tajikistan” took place on June 6-7, this year, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The conference was organized in the context of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was opened by Solehzoda Ashurboy Abdulvahid, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the conference, special emphasis was placed on the importance of intellectual property in economic development. Topics such as the protection of inventions and technology transfer, artificial intelligence, copyright in inventions, trademarks and geographical indications, etc., were also addressed.

The Deputy Director General of AGEPI, Andrei Popa, congratulated the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, wishing the Center’s team prosperity, beautiful achievements and success in their work.

At the same time, in the context of the event, Andrei Popa had a bilateral meeting with Mirzo Ismoilzoda, during which the current state of collaboration between the two institutions was discussed. The parties exchanged information and opinions on the latest legislative and institutional developments in the field of intellectual property, in particular on the protection of geographical indications and the electronic document management system.

At the end of the meeting, both parties appreciated the exchange of experience they had and agreed on the need to conclude a memorandum of understanding between the two offices.
