The colloquium for teachers of intellectual property from developing countries and countries with economies in transition will run from 13 to 24 June 2016, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The course is organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The aim is to help the teachers become more aware of the Geneva institutions, negotiations and other activities dealing with intellectual property law and policy, and to strengthen their countries’ independent research, policy analysis and teaching in international intellectual property (IP) law.

Hours are provided for university teachers, researchers and lawyers with expertise in intellectual property law and policy.

In total, 22 scholarships are available for applicants from developing countries and countries with economies in transition. Participation costs are covered by WIPO and WTO. Hours will be held in English.

Applicants should identify a specific topical intellectual property policy or legal issue that is currently under active debate or review, on which he/she would be ready to make a short presentation and prepare a paper for subsequent publication. A one-page summary of this presentation must accompany the application form.

The final selection will be made by the organizers. Participants in previous colloquia may not apply within five years of their earlier participation.
