The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, participated on November 4 in the Civil Law Conference “JMD Pro - Book III, The Right of Selfish Interests”.

The third edition of the event was dedicated to professionals and proposed for discussion practical issues tangential to Book III of the Civil Code - Obligations.

Speakers included lawyers, judges, university professors, arbitrators and insolvency administrators. The special guest of this conference was Dr. Florentin Tuca, one of the most famous lawyers in Romania.

During the event, Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of AGEPI, familiarized the participants with the subject focused on intellectual property contracts (license, assignment and franchising). Eugeniu Rusu spoke about important aspects for concluding contracts, which rights can be transferred and what would be the advantages of concluding them.

We mention that, since 1994, more than 3,500 contracts on transfer of rights in intellectual property objects have been registered in the Republic of Moldova. Of these, 162 contracts were registered last year. The data are contained in the activity report of the State Agency on Intellectual Property for the year 2021.

The current edition of the Civil Law Conference “JMD Pro - Book III, The Right of Selfish Interests” was a special one dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the launch of the JURIDICE MOLDOVA portal.
