The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized on February 5 an online event in the field of intellectual property, entitled “Intellectual Property: The Characteristics of the Legislative Framework and the AGEPI Database”.
The purpose of the event was to familiarize within the discipline “Innovation Management” the third-year students, Business and Administration study program from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), on the role of intellectual property in developing innovations and the importance of affording a solid protection of intellectual property rights.
During the event, Andrei Moisei, main consultant, Communication and Training Division, Communication and International Relations Department of AGEPI presented the communication “Intellectual Property - Between Passion and Profit”, in which practical aspects related to the purpose of protection of intellectual property objects, the principles and procedures for obtaining such protection, as well as the ways of managing and enforcing intellectual property rights were brought to the attention of students, with particular emphasis on the negative effects of counterfeiting and piracy. The online event ended with a question and answer session.
We should mention that, for AGEPI, training in the field of intellectual property is one of the key priorities in promoting and developing the system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
We remind you that, in April 2011, AGEPI and ASEM concluded a Cooperation Agreement which provides for the promotion of intellectual property by training the most qualified specialists in the field in the process of training and improving the skills of teachers and students from ASEM.
