AGEPI, Partner of MOLDOVA WUSHU OPEN 2019

The MOLDOVA WUSHU OPEN 2019 Championship with international participation – 2nd Confucius Institute Wushu Cup (kungfu) & 5th National Wushu Championship (taolu) took place on May 26, 2019, in the polyvalent hall of the sports complex of the State University of Physical Education and Sports, in which the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner.

The event was organized by the Moldova Wushu Federation, the Confucius Institute under the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Moldova.

Present at the opening, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Chisinau Mr. Zhang Yinghong, wished the participants in the Championship great success and mentioned that wushu is one of the precious legacies of Chinese culture. “Martial arts promote the culture of peace, their ultimate goal is to stop violence, end the conflict, and achieve peace and harmony. At the same time, wushu is a practice for improving health and physical fitness. The championship will contribute to a deeper understanding of Chinese martial arts and Chinese culture in general. The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Moldova will continue to actively support and promote wushu, the martial arts being a cultural exchange between our countries.”

The competition was attended by 70 participants: sportsmen, referees, team leaders, etc. from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The age of participants is from 7 to 25 years. The sportsmen have presented modern and traditional wushu demonstrations (kungfu) on punches, long weapons and short weapons.

The participants were awarded medals and diplomas, and on the part of AGEPI received gifts and information materials in the field of intellectual property.

The Moldova Wushu Open 2019 Championship is part of the program of activities to promote intellectual property in society in the context of the theme proclaimed by the World Intellectual Property Organization for 2019 “Reach for Gold: Intellectual Property and Sports”.
