On 16 March this year, the Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) Lilia Bolocan, participated in the International Conference entitled “The Industrial Property - Today and Tomorrow”, in Sofia. The event took place in the context of the takeover of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union by the Republic of Bulgaria. The international conference was organized by the Bulgarian Patent Office with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The event was conceived as a platform for discussion, in which were debated the legal aspects of the unitary patent and trademark protection system as well as the challenges faced by Member States as well as users of intellectual property protection systems in the European Union market.

High-level officials of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the European Patent Office, as well as representatives of intellectual property offices in the Member States of the European Union, and also associated states, attended the conference. Participation in the event was a good opportunity to familiarize with the latest developments in the field of intellectual property at European level and at the same time offered the possibility to promote the successes registered by the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration on the chapter of intellectual property.
