The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on September 19, in the 10th edition of the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage - Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Society”, organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM ) in the context of the European Days of Cultural Heritage. This anniversary edition takes place in a hybrid format, from September 19 to 20, 2024, with sections organized in Chisinau, Iasi and Lvov.
The event brings together researchers, experts and practitioners dedicated to the study and protection of cultural heritage. The proceedings of the conference included discussion panels on various topics, including: Art and mythopoetics of the city in a national and international context, Conservation and restoration of cultural heritage - experience and best practices, Linguistics and literature problems - Current challenges, Ethnological heritage: from ignorance to cultural valorization, Historical science between challenges and perspectives, Promoting heritage through tourism: opportunities and perspectives, and Health: a primary condition for the sustainable development of society.
In the opening of the conference, Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, highlighted the commitment of the institution in supporting initiatives to protect and promote cultural heritage. “The State Agency on Intellectual Property is fully committed to supporting efforts aimed at protecting and promoting cultural heritage, both at the national and international level. Our collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova is a fruitful one and is based on the belief that progress in the field of intellectual property contributes to the social, economic and cultural development of society. At the same time, we are aware that varied approaches, coming from different backgrounds, generate creative and innovative solutions. That’s why we support initiatives that promote inclusion and collaboration between researchers, regardless of their field of activity,” said Natalia Mogol.
The conference provides a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, emphasizing the importance of protecting cultural heritage as a key element in the sustainable development of society.
