Seminar at TUM: Students from the Design Department, Trained in the Field of Intellectual Property

On November 29, 2023, almost 50 fourth-year students from the study programs “Industrial Clothing Design”, “Design and Printing Technologies” and “Textile and Clothing Design Technology”, Design Department of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) have participated in a seminar organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

The event aimed to provide students with a detailed insight into the national intellectual property protection system and to highlight opportunities for its valorization.

Thus, during the seminar, Andrei Moisei, coordinator specialist, Communication and Training Division of AGEPI, spoke to the students about intellectual property in the design activity. The AGEPI specialist presented the students with concrete examples from national and international practice to emphasize the importance and options for valorizing the results of innovation and creation activity. He discussed legal aspects related to intellectual property and highlighted the need to protect these creations. The specialist provided details on the possibilities of patenting and registration of intellectual property objects by students, including information on relevant databases and registration fees. He urged the students to have confidence in their creative potential, to protect their rights in the results of intellectual activity and to clearly outline their goals for the future.

“It is encouraging to see so many students interested and eager to learn about intellectual property and its impact in the world of design. AGEPI is committed to providing knowledge and resources to support future creators to protect and valorize their innovations,” said Andrei Moisei.
