The AGEPI representative participated in the delegation of the Republic of Moldova, headed by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici, in the 2nd DCFTA Ministerial Meeting, which took place on 21 May this year in Kiev, Ukraine.
The meeting was organized under the auspices of the EU Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström, with the participation of high-level representatives of the Eastern Partnership countries, namely Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
The event assessed the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries on economic development and the business environment.
In his speech, Minister Chiril Gaburici highlighted progress and challenges in the implementation of DCFTA Agreement, noting that the Republic of Moldova has made substantial progress since the last Ministerial Meeting on customs, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and public procurement.
The AGEPI representative at the event, Mrs. Liliana Vieru, Head of Communication and International Relations Direction, presented the latest developments registered by the Republic of Moldova in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the context of the commitments assumed by our country under the DCFTA.
In the framework of the meeting, a roundtable was organized with the participation of Moldovan, Ukrainian and Georgian companies operating on and exporting products to the European Union market, which exchanged experience and good practices on the benefits and challenges faced by economic operators in the process of joining the EU market.
