AGEPI has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro

On 28 May this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro (IPOM). The signing took place during the visit of the AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan in Podgorica, a visit paid at the invitation of the IPOM Director Valentina Radulović – Šćepanović, in the context of the 10th anniversary of the Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro.

The agreement between AGEPI and IPOM provides a framework of good cooperation for the exchange of experience and good practices in the field of intellectual property, the implementation of joint programs and the coordination of positions on topics of mutual interest within international and regional organizations.

During the visit, AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activity of the Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro, as well as to promote the latest developments and achievements in the field of intellectual property rights (IP) protection and enforcement in the Republic Moldova. During the meeting between the AGEPI Director General and her counterpart in Montenegro, the priority directions of the cooperation between the two offices were also identified.

AGEPI Director General attended the IPOM 10th anniversary ceremony, an event attended by senior government officials from Podgorica, representatives of international specialized organizations and national intellectual property offices.

We should note that the first meeting at AGEPI and IPOM director level took place at the initiative of AGEPI, in Chisinau, in the period 17-18 November 2017. During that meeting, the parties decided to join forces to modernize the intellectual property system especially in the context of the European integration process of the two countries.
