The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in partnership with the European Patent Office (EPO), has organized on November 17 a Workshop on Patent Information and Validation System. The event took place in the Central Pavilion of Moldexpo, where the 15th edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” takes place. The participants, intellectual property specialists and exhibition visitors were present at the workshop. The event was moderated by Maria Rojnevschi, Head of Promotion and External Relations Department, AGEPI.

According to the program, Lisa McDonald-Maier, representative of the European Patent Office, spoke to the participants about the patent information as well as the latest information on the information and search instruments and sources in the field of patents made available by the EPO.

Also, Eugenia Nicolae, representative of the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM), came up with practical advice and case studies on patenting inventions.

AGEPI specialists have presented the information and search sources in the field of intellectual property, especially inventions, national and international databases in the field, familiarizing the participants in the Workshop, by means of practical examples, with the most simple and useful search modalities. A special interest aroused the platform “Patent Landscape”, an application created and managed by AGEPI about inventions, inventors and patents registered in the Republic of Moldova on national and international route, which allows for the conduct of thematic and analytical research in patent information.

The Workshop ended with a session of questions and answers on various aspects of legal protection and exploitation of inventions in the Republic of Moldova.
