On December 6th, this year, third year students, discipline “Innovation Management” from the Business and Administration Programme at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the field of intellectual property during an information visit to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The Deputy Director General of AGEPI, Andrei Popa, welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of knowing the concepts related to innovation and intellectual property in the current context of business and economy. He emphasized the role that AGEPI plays in promoting and protecting innovations and intellectual property in the Republic of Moldova.
The event included a lecture entitled “Lesser Known Aspects of Intellectual Property and Their Role in Stimulating Innovation”, delivered by Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Division of AGEPI. During the lecture, students had the opportunity to better understand the close connection between innovation and intellectual property protection and were informed about the procedures and tools available to secure their rights to their innovations.
After the lecture, there was an interactive question and answer session, where students had the opportunity to talk directly with the AGEPI specialist and clarify any concerns related to the topic. The visit was a valuable opportunity for young people to enrich their knowledge in the field of innovation management and to better understand the importance of intellectual property protection in the modern business environment.
At the same time, the students were offered the opportunity to take a tour of the Agency, during which they could talk with specialists from different departments about their specific activity. This experience gave the students a practical insight into how AGEPI manages its activity.
The event ended with thanks from ASEM to the AGEPI team for the openness and active involvement in the education and training of future specialists in innovation management, thus strengthening the cooperation between the academic environment and the institutional sector.
