On December 20, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated in the Workshop entitled “Trademarks and Procedure for Their Registration in the Republic of Moldova and Other Countries”, organized by the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), for residents of business incubators.
The workshop aimed at promoting the use of intellectual property objects: trademarks, industrial design and other distinctive signs as tools for business development and increasing the export competitiveness of indigenous products and services.
According to the program, Andrei Moisei, coordinator specialist of the AGEPI Training Division, spoke to the participants in the Workshop about the opportunity and trademark protection systems, including the role of distinctive signs in promoting the company’s image, including practical recommendations on designing and using the trademark and industrial design to promote a successful businesses and the role of their protection at national and international level.
About the ways of management, evaluation and accounting of intellectual property spoke to the participants Iurie Badar, head of the AGEPI Training Division, who elucidated the problems of the economic value of intellectual property objects as intangible assets for economic development.
At the same time, Ana Cheptene, specialist in the Legal Assistance and Contract Registration Division of AGEPI, familiarized the residents of business incubators with the AGEPI databases and the practical ways of using them.
The workshop ended with a question and answer session.
