Press Release: Visit of Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization to AESM

On October 23 this year, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. Francis GURRY, who arrived in Chisinau at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Vladimir FILAT will pay a working visit to the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in our country.

In the presence of AESM Senate, professors and students, in the Conference Hall “Eugen Hriscev” of AESM, Mr. Francis GURRY will be given the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of AESM. Dr. GURRY will deliver a speech to the audience on the role of intellectual property in economic, social and cultural development of the countries of the world.

The proposal for conferring the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova to  Director General of WIPO, Mr. Francis GURRY, has been submitted to AESM Senate by the Council of the Business and Business Administration Faculty and is an explicit recognition of academic and professional performances of the distinguished personality, his outstanding merits in encouraging creativity, innovation and development of the international intellectual property protection system.

The ceremony of conferring the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of AESM will take place on October 23, between the hours of 11.15-11.45, in the Conference Hall “Eugen Hriscev” of AESM (61, Banulescu-Bodoni str.).

At the end of the ceremony, Mr. GURRY will deliver a speech on the role of intellectual property in economic, social and cultural development of the countries of the world to the AESM Management, Senate members, professors and students, present at the ceremony.
