An information visit of a group of students from the Czech Republic, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova took place on 23 August this year at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), participants of the Summer University 2021 “Art of Zone”, organized from 14 to 24 August by the European Student’s Association, AEGEE-Chisinau.
The visit to AGEPI aimed to familiarize young people with the system of protection, enforcement and use of intellectual property rights.
The students participated in an interactive lesson focused on the role of intellectual property (IP) in an economy based on knowledge and creativity, the importance of protecting and enforcing IP rights, as well as international and national regulations in the field.
The participants expressed a keen interest in the role of innovation in solving current problems and challenges facing humanity at this stage, the mechanisms and tools offered by the patent system in overcoming public health crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the end of the study visit, the students thanked the host and shared their impressions about the Republic of Moldova and the purpose for which they decided to visit our country.
Beyond the information visit to AGEPI, the students of the Summer University were involved in a series of other socio-cultural-educational activities organized by AEGEE-Chisinau.
