Today, the 16th edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” was inaugurated. The event takes place in the precincts of the Central Pavilion of the International Exhibition Center “Moldexpo”. The exhibition will be open until Saturday.
The event is organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the International Exhibition Center (I.E.C.) “Moldexpo” J.S.C., in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Research and Development.
Approximately 80 institutions and enterprises, young creators and inventors from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Belarus, Poland, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, France, etc., will participate in the exhibition, who will present at the exhibition stands more than 450 inventions, innovative and creative products/services, innovative and innovation and technology transfer projects, etc.
The works of the participants are exhibited in 5 compartments: inventions, plant varieties and industrial design; innovative products and services; innovation and technology transfer projects; creation of youth and creative industries.
During the inauguration ceremony, AGEPI Interim Director General Andrei Popa welcomed the participants and guests on the exhibition, noting that INFOINVENT is a major event for the Republic of Moldova. Andrei Popa mentioned that the main objective of the exhibition “INFOINVENT” is to support and promote innovation activity, to attract investments in the innovation and technological transfer activity, to promote the implementation projects of inventions, technologies and creative products in the national economy, to develop regional and international scientific-technical cooperation and to encourage business-science partnerships. “At the same time, for the interested visitors, the exhibition is a real information platform in the field of intellectual property, as well as in the field of use of innovations and technology transfer projects exhibited on the stands”, added the Interim Director General of AGEPI.
Present at the exhibition opening event, Aliona Onofrei, Directorate for Research and Innovation Policy, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research underlined that: “I hope this event will have a major impact on the visibility of science in the contemporary society. Research and innovation is one of the priority areas, along with education, health, social protection, etc. We hope that this event will actually contribute to the popularization of the scientific activity of research and innovation organizations in the Republic of Moldova.”
Present at the exhibition, Yoshiyuki Takagi, Assistant Director General, Global Infrastructure Sector, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) thanked for the invitation to this important event for the Republic of Moldova and invited the participants to come with as many innovative solutions and new technologies as possible to enhance productivity and quality of life.
Mircea Bernic, Vice-Rector for Research, Technical University of Moldova and Ion Tighineanu,
President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova also came with a word of welcome, mentioning that the Republic of Moldova has an important research and innovation potential, which allows the creation of value-added products for the benefit of the whole society.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by representatives of central public authorities, international and national organizations in the field of intellectual property, research and higher education institutions, inventors, researchers and creative young people.
An additional program of events, including conferences, seminars and workshops, will be held within the framework of the exhibition.
Thus, the International Innovation Conference entitled “Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development” will take place, on November 20-21, at the Wine House. The event is organized by AGEPI, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the support of the Minister of Education, Culture and Research. At its fourth edition, the Conference will address issues related to national policies and strategies in the field of innovation and intellectual property (IP) to support sustainable development; the role of IP and innovations in increasing competitiveness and shaping knowledge-based societies; stimulation of the implementation of clean and environmentally friendly technologies; the role of technology transfer in the development of innovative business, etc. respectively, improvement of the quality of life; mechanisms to encourage innovation and technology transfer, etc. The opening of the Conference will take place on November 20, at 14.00 p.m.
On Wednesday, November 20, at 11:30 a.m., in the Central Pavilion of Moldexpo, will be organized a presentation of the traditional products with protected geographical indications or with the potential to be protected from different regions of the Republic of Moldova.
On Thursday, November 21, at 12:00, in the Central Pavilion of Moldexpo, will be held a master-class entitled “The Art and Technique of Leather Goods”, with the participation of students from the Technological College of Chisinau and the Technical University of Moldova.
On Friday, November 22, at 14:30 p.m., will take place the presentation of the short film “Billion”. The event represents a tribute dedicated to the late actor Mihai Curagau, people’s artist. The producer intends to launch a crowdfunding campaign for the sum of 200,000 lei in support of the bust of actor Mihai Curagau and its inauguration in the place where he performed his activity during his life, between the two cultural institutions: the National Theater “Satiricus” and the Cinematograph “Odeum”.
According to the program of the exhibition, the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” laureate award ceremony will take place on November 22, at 14.30 p.m., in the precincts of the Central Pavilion of Moldexpo. Among the most important distinctions to be awarded should be mentioned: Award of the Government of the Republic of Moldova for Outstanding Inventor; distinctions of the World Intellectual Property Organization; medals and trophies of AGEPI; mentions and diplomas of partners, etc.
On Saturday, November 23, at 10:00 a.m., in the precincts of the Central Pavilion of Moldexpo, the National Agency for Research and Development (ANCD) will organize an information and training event ENRICH Information Day & Training, intended for entrepreneurs with innovation potential and researchers to facilitate cooperation in the development of multinational projects. The participants will have the opportunity to draw upon the experience of Hungarian specialists within the European Network of Research & Innovation Centres and Hubs.
The International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” represents an ideal environment for business meetings between inventors, researchers and representatives of the investment sector. It is a major event for the entire scientific and innovative community of the Republic of Moldova.
Since the first edition of the ISE “INFOINVENT” (1997) and so far, over 1000 exhibitors have participated in the event, presenting more than 4,000 inventions and cycles of inventions in various fields of science and technology.
