On the last Saturday of June, in the Republic of Moldova, is annually marked the “Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day”.

On this occasion, on June 24 this year was held a festive meeting, organized by the Union of Inventors and Rationalizers of Moldova “Innovator” (UIR) and the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). The host of the event was the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (NCTU).

The event brought together researchers, inventors and rationalizers from the academic and university institutions, as well as enterprises of the Republic of Moldova.

Present at the solemn meeting, Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, addressed to all inventors and rationalizers congratulations, best wishes, wishing them great achievements in research, innovation and rationalization, and the results can be implemented successfully in different areas of the economy.

During the event, there were mentioned with diplomas and prizes from the organizers, the most active inventors and rationalizers of the year, winners of the current edition of the contests “Most Active Rationalizer” and “The Youngest Rationalizer”, organized by the UIR “Innovator”, jointly with the AGEPI and the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova.

Thus, AGEPI awarded diplomas and prizes to the following laureates of the said contests: Nicolae Bodrug, Dr. Hab., Univ. Prof. and Sergiu Ungureanu, Dr., Assoc. Prof., State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “N. Testemitanu” and to the group of researchers Igor Cotaga, Ecaterina Luca, Marina Podoroghin and Natalia Nicolau.

Also, for their activity in the development and legal protection of new plant varieties, AGEPI awarded diplomas and prizes to three of the most active breeders, namely: Alexei Postolati, Research Institute of Field Crops “Selectia” of Balti, Sergiu Musteata, Dr. Hab., Institute of Crop Production “Porumbeni”, Tudor Olari, Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture and Food Technology.

Traditionally, AGEPI has conducted various activities to aware researchers and inventors in the Republic of Moldova of the need to protect scientific and innovative achievements, information sources in the field of intellectual property and other aspects on the enforcement of rights in the protected intellectual property objects (seminars, roundtables, contests), and actions to support and promote their achievements in international exhibitions of inventions from abroad.
